Beijing Key Laboratory of Digital Media Art
The Beijing Key Laboratory of Digital Media Art operates under the mission of “media-oriented, frontier-focused, creativity-driven, and serving the capital.” It keeps pace with international and domestic cutting-edge trends while integrating the distinctive strengths of Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC), adopting an industry–academia–research integrated development strategy. Focusing primarily on digital media design and communication applications, the laboratory supports the development of Beijing’s cultural and creative industries and aligns with the city’s strategic goals of building a “Cultural Beijing, Digital Beijing, Green Beijing,” and a “World-class City.” Leveraging the National New Media Industry Base, the laboratory has established talent training hubs for digital media and artificial intelligence, new media art and cultural creativity, and internet-based animation and gaming. With the development of Beijing Daxing International Airport and the expanding application of the Internet of Things (IoT), the laboratory will further explore the integration of digital media art with innovative design, artificial intelligence with publishing and communication, and digital art with IoT. In doing so, it aims to make greater contributions to the national strategy of transforming “Made in China” into “Created in China.”
