Beijing Engineering Research Center of Printed Electronics
The Beijing Engineering Research Center for Printed Electronics was established in 2013 with the approval of the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission. It is the first provincial/ministerial-level engineering research center for printed electronics in China. The center focuses on five key research areas: printed electronic materials and their industrialization technologies, application processes and equipment for printed electronics, performance testing and standardization of printed electronic products, fabrication and performance evaluation of printed electronic devices, and digital printing manufacturing. After nearly four development cycles, the center has established a Technical Expert Committee composed of domestic and international experts and scholars. Its research team consists entirely of faculty members with doctoral degrees and includes 24 full-time and part-time graduate supervisors. The center operates a 500-square-meter laboratory, owns approximately RMB 20 million worth of proprietary instruments and equipment, and has access to RMB 30 million worth of shared university equipment. In the past three years, the center has undertaken 15 national and provincial/ministerial-level projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Ministry of Science and Technology’s Key R&D Program, its Intergovernmental International Cooperation Program, and the Joint Fund of the Beijing Natural Science Foundation and the Municipal Education Commission. It has also carried out 12 enterprise-commissioned horizontal projects and published over 60 SCI-indexed papers. The center has received more than 40 awards, including honors from the Beijing Federation of Trade Unions, the Printing Technology Association of China, international invention patent awards, and student innovation and entrepreneurship awards.
