Beijing Key Laboratory of Printing and Packaging Materials and Technology
Beijing Key laboratory of Printing & Packaging Materials and Technology (PPMT), established in 2002, is recognized by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Education and the Municipal Commission of Science and Technology as Beijing Key Laboratory since 2004. PPMT is a member of the International Association for Packaging Research Organization (IAPR), Zhongguancn open laboratories, and the R&D and experimental service base of Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication in the Capital Science and Technology Platform. The laboratory has built the Beijing Branch of China Packaging Research and Testing Center with China Packaging Corporation, and the Green Printing Testing Laboratory with the Quality Inspection Center of the General Administration of Press and Publication, both of which are certified and recognized by CNAS/CMA.
PPMT focuses on the cutting-edge basic research and technology development of printing & packaging materials and related application technologies, and has long been committed to printing materials & technology, packaging materials & technology, plasma physics & materials and graphic image technology. With the development of printing & packaging industry and new-generation information technology, PPMT has initially constructed new research areas, including printing intelligent manufacturing, digital media and image science, intelligent packaging, advanced functional film materials and devices.
At present, the laboratory covers a total area of more than 2500 m2, with a total investment of more than ¥ 30 million yuan in instruments and more than 120 high-value instruments (above 100,000 yuan), including field emission scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffractometer, rheometer, thermogravimetric analyzer, etc.,
The laboratory will adhere to the research direction of printing & packaging materials and related technology applications. On the basis of the current stage of industrial development, market demand and the main material and technology problems that enterprises need to solve, PMMT conduct frontier research on materials and related technologies, serve Beijing and the printing & packaging industry, promote the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, and push forward the construction of an innovation platform integrating industry, academia and research.
