Beijing Key Laboratory of Cross-media Publishing
The Beijing Key Laboratory of Cross-Media Publishing is affiliated with the School of Publishing at Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication and was officially recognized by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission in April 2011. The laboratory focuses on five main research areas: publishing communication theory and cultural studies, digital publishing and communication research, copyright trade and cross-cultural communication research, publication standards and evaluation research, and publishing industry theory and practice research.




The current director of the laboratory is Professor Chen Dan. The lab has a team of 40 full-time and part-time researchers, including 14 with senior professional titles, 18 with associate senior titles, and 39 holding doctoral or master's degrees. Professor Chen Dan also serves as the Vice President of Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication, Secretary-General of the Teaching Steering Committee for Publishing Programs in Higher Education, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Society of Editing, Executive Director of the China Audio-Video and Digital Publishing Association, Director of the China Copyright Association, member of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Press and Publication, and a leading talent in the national press and publication industry.




After years of development, the laboratory has achieved remarkable progress. In recent years, it has undertaken one major project funded by the National Social Science Fund, four projects supported by the National Social Science Fund and the National Natural Science Foundation, one sub-project under the National Key Research and Development Program, and more than ten provincial and ministerial-level projects.
