On the morning of June 20, as a key event of the 31st Beijing International Book Fair, the Third International Conference on Publishing Education was held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. With the theme "Mutual Learning & Cooperation: Shaping a New Ecosystem for International Publishing Education in the Digital Intelligence Era", the conference aimed to explore innovative paths for the publishing industry and publishing education in the digital-intelligent era. It focused on discussing new trends in technological development within the publishing field, advancing higher education concepts in publishing, reforming talent cultivation models, and promoting academic exchange and collaboration in the global publishing community. The goal is to empower knowledge production and dissemination in the digital-intelligent era through publishing education, and to better support the building of a strong nation in education and culture.

The Third International Conference on Publishing Education held in Beijing
A founding ceremony for the Alliance of International Publishing Education (AIPE) and a ceremony for the representatives of the founding members signing the memorandum of cooperation were held during the conference. The AIPE is the first large-scale international consortium in the field of publishing higher education. It aims to foster collaboration and exchange among publishing education institutions and publishers worldwide. Nearly 50 member organizations will engage in joint research, training programmes, seminars, and other initiatives to promote the development of publishing education. The establishment of the AIPE is both a key outcome of three consecutive editions of the conference and a new starting point for China's publishing education as it embraces intelligent transformation and internationalization.

The conference was co-hosted by Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC) and the Publishers Association of China, and jointly organized by the BIGC School of Publishing, the Publishing Research Institute of Peking University, the College of Publishing at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, and China National Publications Import and Export (Group) Co., Ltd.
Zhang Xin, Secretary of the CPC Committee of BIGC; Xiao Zhan, Director of Export Management Division, Import and Export Administration, Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, Level II Counselor; and Zhang Yulei, Deputy Secretary of the Education Work Commission of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, each delivered speeches at the conference.
In his remarks, Zhang Xin said that BIGC remains committed to serving national strategic needs and keeping pace with the trend of "digital-intelligent empowerment", and that it will leverage the AIPE as a platform to join forces in strengthening and enhancing publishing education, while exploring innovative and diversified models of internationalized publishing education and publishing talent development mechanisms.
