Freshmen Debate Competition
Event Introduction: From October 31 to November 25, 2024, the Student Union of Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC) hosted the 22nd Freshmen Debate Competition. Spanning nearly a month, the event featured 4 preliminary rounds, 2 semifinals, and 1 final round. Over 50 freshmen from 8 schools participated, with more than 1,000 audience members attending in person. Centered around seven sets of socially relevant debate topics—such as youth values—the competition fostered critical thinking and served as a platform for expressing patriotism and social responsibility through reasoned discourse.
