The School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering currently offers three undergraduate programs: Mechanical Engineering, Automation, and Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering. Among them, Mechanical Engineering is designated as both a National and Beijing Municipal First-Class Undergraduate Program, while Automation is recognized as a Beijing Municipal First-Class Undergraduate Program. The School is authorized to grant two types of master’s degrees: an academic master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (first-level discipline) and a professional master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. It also hosts several high-level teaching and research platforms at the provincial and ministerial level, including the Beijing Key Laboratory of Digital Printing Equipment, the Engineering Research Center for Printing Equipment in Beijing Higher Education Institutions, the Integrated Laboratory for R&D and Application of Key Technologies in the Press and Publishing Sector, the National Quality Supervision and Inspection Center for Printing Machinery, and the Beijing Municipal Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Intelligent Printing Equipment in Higher Education Institutions.

The School currently has 60 faculty members, including 34 with senior professional titles, 23 master’s supervisors, and 3 doctoral supervisors, along with more than 30 adjunct professors. The faculty includes recipients of numerous prestigious honors and positions, such as experts receiving the State Council Special Allowance, leading talents under the Beijing High-Level Innovation Program, Beijing Teaching Masters, Beijing Science and Technology Rising Stars, Bi Sheng Printing Outstanding New Talent Award winners, National Top 100 Technological Innovation Figures in the Printing Industry, and members of the National Standardization Committees for Printing Machinery and Publication Distribution. The School is also home to two Beijing Municipal Academic Innovation Teams. There are currently 865 enrolled students, including 178 postgraduate students and 687 undergraduates.
The School upholds the educational philosophy of “virtue, unity, inclusiveness, innovation, pragmatism, and dedication,” and has developed a distinctive approach to talent cultivation. To date, it has trained over 4,000 outstanding professionals for the industry and related fields.

【Program Overview】
The Mechanical Engineering program is part of the Ministry of Education’s “Excellence in Engineer Education and Training Program.” Designed to meet the national needs of intelligent manufacturing and the development of printing and packaging equipment manufacturing, the program cultivates high-level, application-oriented professionals with a strong foundation in mechanical engineering theory and solid expertise in mechanical design, manufacturing, and enterprise production and operations management. Graduates are equipped with the skills and competencies required of outstanding engineers.

The Automation program is distinguished by its balanced emphasis on both strong-current and weak-current electrical engineering, integration of software and hardware, and a curriculum that combines general education with industry-specific training. It aims to cultivate high-caliber, interdisciplinary, application-oriented professionals equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in industrial automation. Graduates are prepared to work in areas such as industrial process control, electrical drive and control, electronic information and industrial network technology, and artificial intelligence.
The Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering program is closely aligned with the rapid developments in the field of intelligent manufacturing. It focuses on key technologies such as industrial and service robotics, artificial intelligence, advanced materials manufacturing, smart logistics, and intelligent diagnostics. The program emphasizes the cultivation of high-level, interdisciplinary, application-oriented professionals who possess both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in intelligent manufacturing and printing and packaging technologies, along with strong innovation capacity and hands-on problem-solving abilities.
【Discipline Overview】
Aligned with the latest research developments and emerging trends in advanced mechanical engineering both in China and abroad, this discipline focuses on key areas such as intelligent inspection and fault diagnosis equipment, digital and intelligent equipment design, intelligent manufacturing and control systems, as well as intelligent publishing technologies and equipment. The program aims to cultivate high-level professionals capable of independently conducting scientific research and specialized technical work in the field of mechanical and electrical engineering. Graduates will master next-generation intelligent equipment technologies, including digital design, manufacturing, assembly, simulation, control, and testing.
【Major Achievements】
The School has received five teaching achievement awards at the provincial/ministerial and higher levels, and developed nearly ten high-quality courses, including National First-Class Courses and Beijing Municipal Excellent Courses. It has undertaken over 60 research projects at the provincial/ministerial and higher levels, including those funded by the National Key Technology R&D Program and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, along with five projects involving the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.
