President Tian Zhongli Leads Delegation to Visit Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina
From December 20 to 26, 2025, at the invitation of several universities and cultural institutions in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tian Zhongli, Deputy Party Secretary and President of Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC), led a delegation to visit Belgrade and Banja Luka. During the visit, they held the exhibition "Light and Print: The Spatiotemporal Heritage of Technology and Art", engaged in a series of exchange and cooperation activities, and achieved multiple results.
During the visit, the "Light and Print" exhibition, jointly hosted by BIGC, opened in Belgrade. The exhibition featured 70 artworks integrating cutting-edge technologies, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Serbia. In his speech, Tian Zhongli emphasized that the exhibition is an important platform for the integration of art and technology, as well as for promoting cultural exchanges. Tang Dasheng, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Serbia, recognized the exhibition's positive significance for mutual learning between civilizations. Zhang Aimin, Director of the China Cultural Center in Belgrade, and Zoran Levic, Director of the Museum of Science and Technology in Belgrade, both expressed appreciation for the exhibition's achievements. At the opening ceremony, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed with the China Cultural Center in Belgrade.

At the Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade, the delegation held in-depth discussions with Professor Jelena Ristić Trajković, the Dean, on topics such as the preservation of digital cultural heritage. They also signed a Memorandum of Understanding for joint doctoral training. At the Faculty of Forestry, they discussed potential cooperation with Professor Biljana Jović on areas such as sustainable design and the development of green materials.

During the visit to the University of Arts in Belgrade, the delegation exchanged views with President Mirjana Nikolić and others on fields such as digital art. The two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding, with plans to establish a joint laboratory and carry out faculty and student exchanges.

At Singidunum University, discussions were held with Professor Zarko Cvejić, Dean of the Faculty of Media and Communications, on potential collaboration pathways in areas such as joint course development and project cooperation in the fields of digital art and creative design.

At the Museum of Science and Technology in Belgrade, Director Zoran Levic and the delegation reviewed the successful experience of their previous collaborative exhibitions and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on long-term strategic cooperation.

At the University of Banja Luka in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the delegation held discussions with relevant officials from the Academy of Arts and the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Geodesy on topics such as digital art, cultural heritage preservation, and design education. They also signed a Memorandum of Understanding and included the joint organization of exhibitions as a key area of cooperation. Tian Zhongli delivered a lecture titled "Harnessing the Power of Publishing and Design to Build an Innovative Ecosystem for the Revitalization of Intangible Cultural Heritage" for the university's faculty and students, which sparked a strong response.

In addition, the delegation also visited the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where they discussed potential areas of cooperation such as digital art and joint curating with the curator of the museum, Sarita Vujkovic, laying the foundation for future specific collaboration.

This visit is an important initiative by BIGC to support China's "Belt and Road" education action and contribute to the development of Beijing's international exchange center. It has deepened practical cooperation between BIGC and universities and cultural institutions in Central and Eastern Europe in the fields of art, technology, and education, expanded the international exchange network, and laid a solid foundation for long-term collaboration in the future.
